is resuming! At the beginning of 2011, Eric Mauffrey and Gaëtan Houssin found the Clio R3 at the first round of the IRC, the legendary Monte Carlo Rally which this year celebrates its centenary.
Divided into three stages, this 2011 edition offers competitors to find places like the mythical Moulinon, Antraigues Burzet St-Bonnet-le-Froid, Saint-Jean-En-Royans, Col Gaudissart La Bollène Vésubie Lucéram, Col de Turini, etc.. Short names that thrilled all motor sports enthusiasts.
The reconnaissance of the course debuted yesterday with the program so the three ES to be on the menu for the third stage of the rally: Montauban sur l'Ouvèze - Eygalayes (29.89 km), REEL - THE BOLLÈNE Vésubie (23.41 km) LANTOSQUE - LUCERAM (18.81).
After a very long day, Gaëtan told us his first impressions: " We spent more than 12 hours in the car today to recognize these three beautiful and ES as well say that we appreciate the good night sleep ahead. (Laughs) In terms of weather and road conditions, we consider very seriously a Monte Carlo dry for this 2011 edition. We have indeed met some icy patches here and there over the course of this third stage so it's the contrast with the conditions encountered last year. Moreover, we have corrected most of our notes taken in 2010 as a snowy road just released by the plow and dry roads are not all the same countenance. In short we have been busy today and are quite happy with the work. This Sunday, we head for an area that I like very much, Ardeche. Tomorrow for a new item! "
