"OUR LADY DOLLY LANE IN MK LAND" (1996) my first album finally reissued in digital format on all platforms legal download:

took me some time to finally get my first album. I started to record under my name only in 1994. It took me two years of record to ensure that my first album Karina Square in 1996. I found a long time. Yet two years is quite short. But the publication of the first long-format is a rite of passage to pass. It was the first step in the life of a musician. Admittedly, 94, 95 and 96, I go out three 45s. But the small size, he is so cute, does not mean the same thing in those early 90's indie pop in French. To begin, we were less numerous than today to play the English Pop classified as alternative or independent. Moreover, I find that term in 94. I thought to play rock, simply. But the French rock has big guitars, sung in French and on the radio. In 94, a decree had just fallen on quotas for French-language songs on the radio programmed mandatory for the Safeguarding of the Francophonie, negating any chance to music sung in English if it is by the French. In 2000, Herman Dune have the same idea of pretending to Swedish (which is half of the interbreeding of two of them) for a chance to switch on the radio. But at 94, for the indie pop musicians in France, but rather the penalty. We sing for a minority. On the other hand, economic reasons pushing the music industry in a massive propaganda stating that the plants have closed and vinyl format this exist anymore. This lie is still going on today so that we can even find the BHV reissues or in some supermarkets in addition to Fnac, in 2010. This hoax was intended to boost the CD format. Moreover, it will revive the wounds Vinyl fans will discover that the plants have absolutely not stopped the manufacture of this format (never listen to the news), and in addition it also proposes smaller prints. Thus, a variety of labels can be mounted by offering 45 tours for groups to draw a minimum. In the batch of labels such as Lithium or Rosebud emerge with the release of these mini cakes. Both labels and unearth Katerine Domnique A, only here. With this momentum is the idea that "the international pop underground" declared by the label K Records in California could well have an embassy in France. Groups are mounted. Labels too. Rain of 45 laps. Suddenly, out in a long format, cd, it's a little switch in the big leagues in 1996. And that's what I do. The registration lasts for two years between Paris and Bordeaux, among 4 tracks and eight tracks. Between one and edited by Julien R, guitarist Carmine and label head Karina Square. We met in 1993. I discovered his first band, Candle, released two years before at Lithium. When the group had changed its name and had mounted his own label, I phoned (I often do here) by a fan: "Hello, I listen to your hard every day, I'm crazy." We sympathized. The recording was difficult for me because I was not alone. And then I was interested more in the folk while Julien saw only one element in my songs emo and kraut rock. The word "lofi" appeared in terms of time and Julien tried to give me a more rounded and less craft. I agreed with him. But that does not sound much to loose because of my lack of musical technicality. From 1996, learning to play my instruments properly has become an obsession. When the album was released, I was disappointed with its sound texture. I decided to record only when dice and find information on each style that I approached. Indeed, the album was very eclectic, as I did often. But from that moment I wanted to know my subjects better to know also what I like most about it all. I am far from finished.

"ELECTRO MK COLLECTION "my second album (1996) finally reissued in digital:

I started recording this album at the same time as my first album. Besides, he had to go out first, and thus became my first feature. The label was assembled by Martin D, coming out lofi singles and cassettes. He had proposed a single, then finally an album in 1995, even before I released the single "Pascal Sevran Ep. This project had highly motivated. I went to Paris to be taken for the album "Our Lady Dolly Lane in MK Land" in Karina Square and I stayed in the home studio at night to make mixes of "electro mk collection." For me, my second album had to be provided more than the first, but the order of publication having been reversed, this order was disrupted. I want short songs, recorded 4 tracks and plenty of small crafts here and there. This disc is my most LoFi, a sort of symbol of that era. Before one calls it "antifolk. We were few in France to make this music DIY. "Electro mk collection" (the word "electro" meaning "electric" at the time and not "electronic") is finally re-released today on all digital platforms worldwide:

" MÉLODÎNES SANE " (Nemo Records 1997) finally re-released in digital:

I attacked the recording of "Melodin Sane" in spring 1995. I remember Bordeaux, revisions to my tray and birds chirp outside. I borrowed a Yamaha folk guitar that sounded like Donovan and I recorded the folk songs somewhat short and intimate with my 4-track cassette recorder. I was on fire two albums recorded half of what to do singles, and here I am trying to start another album project. I played drums in Lemoncurd, a group that had pop jazz up his own label, Nemo Records, under the direction of Fandor (due out later too many discs). This my preferred ballads to my songs more energetic and offered me to release my 3rd album so I kept the momentum melancholy. It seemed a bit crazy to think about my third album at the time because I had only released one single, but I took the bet. It was very exciting to be projected at that point. Today, with the crisis of the disc, it's harder to get into this kind of dynamic, even if I start getting back some time in the emergency. I continued to sort my songs in a folk album project and give it a name, "Sane Melodin. When I had enough songs for the album, the disc is released. I'm only in it to play everything. As usual. This album released in June 1997 at Nemo Records has reissued digitally today:

Demonstration on 19 January, 1 year after the fire CRA de Bordeaux and in support of undocumented charged with the burning of the CRA de Vincennes

Tract-Posters glued on the course of the demo:

REVOLT IN HOLDING CENTRES

While our consolidated plunder resources the so-called "emigration", with the complicity of leaders, and that the money flows from one country to another without hindrance, to militarize the borders against humans. Within each state, the laws against foreigners are hardening. In this system, detention centers (ARC), where the government shuts it wishes to deport foreigners play a valuable role.

CLOSURE OF CENTRES OF RETENTION

FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT AND INSTALLATION

Whether to "internment" and "reunification "" Concentration "and" transit "and" work "or" detention "centers as administrative machinery to segregate, punish, control, or subdue them to work abroad, are a constant feature experienced any state policy of population management.

For years, the political-media constructions legitimize the existence of these detention places for people "undesirable."

Yes but ... this motion in the neck

Many those who in one way or another revolt against a world where millions of lives are hanging from bits of paper. Struggles multiply inside and outside of ARC in France, Belgium, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Turkey, Bulgaria, Malta, the Comoros, Greece, Spain, Italy ...

In Bordeaux, the detention center, located in the basement of police station Mériadeck, burned it ago one year, January 19, 2009. Three people who were trapped are charged with that fire and will go to trial. Reconstruction of the center at the same location is already planned.

The detention center in Vincennes was the biggest prison for undocumented migrants in France. On June 21, 2008, a detainee in vain had claimed her medication died there. The next day, detainees held in the center of a silent march, which was strongly repressed by the police. During the rebellion that ensued, the prison went up in smoke. 25, 26 and 27 January 2010 will be held on trial six persons indicted for the fire.

"Just after the fire, we have seen a proliferation of statements describing the event of tragedy. The real tragedy of life is hunted, in constant fear of being arrested and locked up for deportation. In this sense, the fire in Vincennes is a breath of fresh air. "(Testimony of a retained)

SOLIDARITY É É

In Vincennes like Bordeaux, without finding out whether they are" guilty "or" innocent "we stand with the accused because of fires that the only guilt lies in a policy that human beings are hunted down, arrested, imprisoned, deported. Each year thousands of people die trying to cross borders. The responsibility lies in the politics of migration control.

These trials should not be those of a few scapegoats, they could instead be a forum to denounce the immigration policy and demand the closure of detention centers.

BORDEAUX, MOBILIZATION. The young Bordeaux collective cons detention centers has demonstrated on Saturday against

retention

One hundred demonstrators were present. (Photo by JD)

They were many and all had the same goal: make a noise to break the silence of administrative detention centers (ARC).

Saturday, they marched in the capital of the Gironde on the occasion of two anniversaries: the burning of the CRA de Bordeaux, January 19, 2009, and the trial of accused undocumented fire CRA de Vincennes, which took place in June 2008.
Ready to make noise
The young group, formed in December 2009, met this weekend for the second time. Panels for freedom, banners, megaphones and a mess tins, protesters were ready to make noise.
However, they were surprised by the rain and another scheduled event simultaneously Victory cheerleaders swaying and waving their sticks in for the fight against cystic fibrosis.
So with nearly half an hour late that the demonstrators rebounded during the Aristide-Briand, before strolling across the city. Their remarks, as far as their leaflets are explicit: they protest "against the vultures who make money with the deportation machine." In addition to the closure of the CRA, they claim the system of imprisonment in France and establish the cause of undocumented migrants.
Tomorrow night another mobilization is planned from 19 am to 30 the first "anniversary" of the fire at the detention center of Bordeaux.
