A year after their participation in the abortive legendary Monte Carlo Rally, which this year celebrates its centenary, Eric Mauffrey and Gaëtan Houssin have good exorcise the curse in 2011.

After a big first day of reconnaissance in the Alpes Maritimes, competitors have joined the Ardeche to identify the route of step 1 composed of three ES: THE Moulinon - Antraigues (36.87 km) BURZET - ST MARTIAL (41.06 km) and St-Bonnet-le-Froid - St-Bonnet-le-Froid (25.22 km). This day was also an opportunity for Eric and Gaëtan pass through the famous restaurant-on-Antraigues Volane, The Shed, which has seen all the top drivers in the world.

Gaëtan: "We found pleased roads of the Ardeche and if we spent again ten hours by car, we took a little over our time at the first day recognitions. For this step, the same conclusion as the previous day: the roads are dry and it is far from the snow conditions encountered last year. We worked well notes and tricky areas identified at risk.
