Rallye Monte Carlo 2011 l Jour 2 
With more than nine minutes behind the overall leader and two-wheel drive Clio R3 Eric Mauffrey and Gaëtan Houssin can no longer claim win fair and square. Author of a best time on SS3, the crew has shown, however, he was in on it on this 79th Rallye Monte Carlo. The recovery continues!
With two special plotted in the Vercors to go twice, step 2 has a different profile than the last. Gaëtan: " This morning, the openers have done a good job and all the plates of moisture or ice were well marked on our notes corrected. ES7 St-Jean-en-Royans - Font d'Urle
Snow was invited to the party and completely messed up the rankings.
Obviously, our crew made the right choice since the fastest time with 37 "lead over Raoux and 42 on Lefebvre. Crugnola leader concedes more than 2 minutes in a special. As a result, Eric and Gaëtan back to 8th place in the standings with 6'30 behind the general three minutes times since this morning.
SS8 Cemetery Vassieux - Col de Gaudissart

Gaëtan: "When assistance this afternoon, our openers made their way into ES in dry conditions and we have made many corrections. In the scuffle, I mixed up our schedule out of the park a few minutes and when I realized it was just perfect in a minute ... so we go into a disaster. And pile-pile at that time, our openers reminded us to let us know immediately to shoe nails because the snow had made its appearance. I'm not proud of my error on this one but it has saved the day because otherwise it would be left for non-studded tires. The 7 was damp the first few miles then it's good snow that blanketed the road and then it was ideal for our nails. In 8, it heated up since below the blanket of snow, the road was icy and slippery so hyper even with suitable tires. We made two spins, one of which made us past a few millimeters of a rock that could prematurely end our race. Yesterday was a day without, today was a day in our favor, but evil with three scratches.
